Product Care

Preserve the Beauty That Endures

With the right care, each piece becomes an heirloom. These guidelines are drawn from decades of artisan experience.

01 · Gold-Plated Jewellery

Gold plating is a delicate layer of precious metal bonded to a base. Consistent care significantly extends its lifespan and luminosity.

Plating Thickness

Our pieces carry a minimum 18k gold layer of 0.5–2.5 microns, applied via electroplating for even coverage.

Natural Wear

Friction, moisture and skin chemistry gradually thin the plating layer. This is natural and can be restored through re-plating.

Hypoallergenic Base

All base metals are selected for skin compatibility. Pieces are nickel-tested to minimise sensitivity risk.

Care For
  • Store separately in a soft pouch or lined jewellery box
  • Clean gently with a dry microfibre cloth after each wear
  • Apply perfume, hairspray and lotions before putting on
  • Remove before swimming, bathing or exercising
  • Re-plate periodically to restore original lustre
Avoid
  • Expose to chlorine, salt water or harsh chemicals
  • Rub against abrasive surfaces or stack tightly
  • Use ultrasonic cleaners or steam cleaning
  • Sleep or shower while wearing plated pieces
  • Store in direct sunlight or high-humidity areas

Cleaning Method

Dampen a microfibre cloth with plain water — never submerge. Gently buff in one direction to lift oils and residue. Allow to air-dry fully before storing. Avoid circular rubbing, which accelerates surface wear.

02 · Pearl Jewellery

Pearls are among the most delicate of all organic gems. Their lustrous nacre surface is sensitive to chemicals, heat and abrasion — gentle handling is essential.

Freshwater Pearl

Cultivated in rivers and lakes, freshwater pearls offer exceptional variety in shape, size and colour. Their solid nacre composition makes them more durable than bead-nucleated varieties.

Baroque Pearl

Characterised by their irregular, freeform shapes, baroque pearls carry a sculptural, artistic quality. Each is entirely unique — no two are alike in form or lustre.

Nacre & Lustre

The luminous glow of a pearl — its orient — comes from layers of nacre built up over years. This surface is only 0.3–1.5mm thick and cannot be restored once damaged.

Care For
  • Wipe with a soft, damp cloth after each wear to remove skin oils
  • Put pearls on last — after perfume, hairspray and cosmetics
  • Store flat in a soft pouch or lined box away from other jewellery
  • Re-string knotted pearl strands every 1–2 years with use
  • Allow pearls to breathe — avoid airtight containers long-term
Avoid
  • Expose to perfume, hairspray, acids or cleaning chemicals
  • Submerge in water or wear while swimming, showering or exercising
  • Store in plastic bags — off-gassing can dull the nacre surface
  • Rub against hard gemstones or abrasive materials
  • Use ultrasonic cleaners, steam or harsh detergents

Cleaning Method

After each wear, gently wipe with a soft, slightly damp cloth — never soak or rinse under running water. For deeper cleaning, use a cloth barely moistened with lukewarm water only. Lay flat on a clean towel and allow to dry fully before storing. Never use jewellery dips, ammonia or enzyme-based cleaners on pearls.

Pearls actually benefit from being worn — the natural oils from your skin help maintain their surface moisture and lustre. A pearl that is never worn will gradually dry out and lose its characteristic glow.

02 · Crystal Jewellery

Crystal stones achieve their brilliance through precise faceting. Maintaining their surface clarity is key to preserving their characteristic light play.

Glass Crystal

High-lead or lead-free glass cut to optical precision. Exceptional brilliance and colour dispersion. Sensitive to thermal shock and abrasive surfaces.

Resin & Acrylic Crystal

Lightweight and impact-resistant. Surface can scratch more easily than glass; handle and store with care. Avoid solvents entirely.

Care For
  • Wipe with a soft, lint-free cloth after each wear
  • Store individually wrapped to prevent surface scratching
  • Handle settings and prongs with care when cleaning
  • Clean with lukewarm water and mild soap when needed
Avoid
  • Immerse in water for prolonged periods
  • Use abrasive cleaners, alcohol or acetone
  • Expose to extreme temperatures or sudden thermal shocks
  • Allow contact with acidic substances such as lemon or vinegar

Cloudiness on crystal surfaces is most often caused by residue from cosmetics or hard water. A gentle wipe with a damp cloth followed by immediate drying will restore transparency in most cases.

03 · Cubic Zirconia

Cubic zirconia ranks 8–8.5 on the Mohs scale — highly durable, yet the settings and plating it is mounted in require attentive care.

CZ will not scratch easily, but the metal setting and plating around it are more vulnerable — focus care on those areas.

Care For
  • Clean with a soft toothbrush and warm soapy water monthly
  • Rinse thoroughly and pat dry with a microfibre cloth
  • Inspect prong settings regularly to ensure stones are secure
  • Store in individual compartments to avoid contact scratches
Avoid
  • Use ultrasonic cleaners — vibration may loosen settings
  • Expose to bleach, chlorine or household cleaning products
  • Apply directly to skin while wearing lotion or oils
  • Drop or impact against hard surfaces

Monthly Deep Clean

Fill a small bowl with warm (not hot) water and a drop of mild dish soap. Soak for 10 minutes, then gently work around settings with a soft toothbrush. Rinse under cool running water and pat completely dry before storing. Never air-dry while still wet — moisture trapped in settings accelerates tarnish.

04 · Storage Principles

How you store your pieces between wears is as important as how you clean them.

🌑

Cool & Dark

UV light and heat accelerate plating oxidation. Store away from windowsills.

💧

Dry Environment

Humidity causes tarnish. Add a small silica gel sachet to your jewellery box.

🪶

Separate Pieces

Hard stones scratch softer metals. Store each piece individually.

Soft Pouches

Use the original pouch or a lint-free microfibre bag for travel or daily storage.
